![]() Is never boring! It started off quiet enough. A call at 8.40 with a young Pee Wee out of it's nest. The caller kindly offered to drop it off to the local vet, from where I was able to collect it later. Juvenile wedge tailed eagle - Earlier in the week we'd had a juvenile bustard and wedge tailed eagle brought in, so I took the opportunity to visit the carer and get some photos. One of our bush carers was also visiting, so it was good to meet her again and get an update on some of the joeys we sent out about a month ago. The eagle came to us from Kintore, and will be transferred to a sanctuary on Kangaroo Island. Now that's a good excuse to go down for a visit. The bustard also came from Kintore and was enjoying the morning sun and some bugs. In the safety of his cage, he was quite content to be only a few cm from the camera lens. Then came a call to assess an adult roo with a possible broken leg. Sadly there's nothing we can do for them so we had to make arrangements for him to be euthanased. Thanks to the local Police for taking care of that for us. Next was a visit to the local IT store to do some research for a new computer – ours is getting very old and we really need to update it. However, that was cut short by a number of calls:
Finally home, and time to update the record log with everything that has happened today, and to track down a bird carer, so a quick drive to drop off the peewee and back home for dinner. Here's hoping it's a quiet evening.
